The Enchanting Dumpling
Fairies are light and airy, They flutter as they fly, Just like beautiful butterflies They are easy on the eye There is always an exception to the rule, I spied a fat fairy in my garden, Sitting on the wall. She was a little dumpling, As chubby as could be. Her wings were limp and crumpled, As she was too heavy To fly. Her wings were tired. Which made poor dumpling cry She was so pretty, With lovely soft fair hair It was such a pity She was fat it wasn't fair. I should like to end this rhyme On a happy note, It would be a crime not to So I will quote Dumpling got tired of trying to fly She did not question Or ask the reason why It just happened even in Fairyland. Things don't always go as planned. Dumpling loved sitting on the wall, She became very wise As she could see all Her Fairy friends and give them good advice. Everyone in Fairyland Felt privileged to know The only fat Fairy they lived with Long ago.
