The First Heaven
She sits undisturbed, never bothered or distracted by anything. Up there and visible to all, she occupies everything that we can see with our eyes; but she never lays claim to space, allowing all the right of passage. She's teaching us the meaning of selflessness. She sports the beautiful color of blue, but there's nothing blue about her. That is to say that she is not blue because she is sad, nor because she is reflecting the blue oceans*. And she doesn't sing the blues, but rather shouts 24/7 the mighty praises of God. "The heavens declare the glory of God"**; and she's the first of three heavens. She makes no sounding shouts that we hear, but her creator hears her well. Not a day or second goes by that the open SKY isn't there. There's not a moment that she doesn't care. No matter which direction we look, or where on earth we may go; she is there for you and me. Everything moves up and down, through and around her, but she is quiet and still. She is never closed to traffic, but always wide open with a kind welcome toward all. Like your dearest friend, or like my dearest maternal grandmother, 'she is always there'. That BIG SKY has never gone away, but has been there for us since creation, being created on the second day.*** 072121PSCtest, Finding Your Muse, Regina McIntosh *Contrary to popular belief, the sky does not look blue because it is reflecting the blue of the oceans. Longer light waves make up orange and red colors, and that light becomes visible at sunrise and sunset. The scattering of light off of molecules in the atmosphere creates a blue sky. https://www.allthingsnature.org/what-causes-the-sky-to-look-blue.htm **Psalm 19:1 NIV ***Gen, 1:6-9 NIV
