East Coast
There's this guy I used to eye When I first moved to the country, He's a taurus with a great smile and his mother really loved me. Him and I were a we after I told him, "Hey, hope you don't mind, I don't pine. I'll be honest with you here, Yes I know that I don't know you but you should know that I admire- Your work, the way you think, your voice and your hair." He turned pink, started stuttering Ugh! he was sweet, why did I ever leave him? We were close, closer than I had ever before been. I closed the door, I was scared I wasn't ready to wear the ring. He looked happy that day when I asked him to sit next to me, I didn't wanted to lie so I had to tell him, I've got more than butterflies For someone we both just finished working with. I think he cried, I don't remember, he was really kind about it. I remember leaving our home, remember his sister calling me to say, "are you sure you want this?" Was I sure? I mean, I sure do hope since no way we can change it now. He looks happy with her, the same way he did before. No no! you don't understand, I want nothing but the best for them. Still sometimes when I can't sleep at night, I really do just think about it. Could've been easy, my whole life, I could be happy and comfortable. Good on paper but I felt trapped just like I always do, We had it planned, our whole lives, but somehow it wasn't mine too. I wasn't ready for all the things we had coming. Trust me, I still am not and probably I never will be, So I didn't ask for time, instead, I said, "I'm leaving". I sound pathetic, but I really did love him So I'm saying these, this'll help, I hope- See, I know I can't change the past, I don't even want to He seems happy, I'll cope.
