Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required The Castle by Robert J (Bob) Moore © 2019 My dad made me a castle, on his fretsaw in the shed with battlements and ramparts, and a drawbridge painted red I loved that wooden castle, guess I was nine or ten and my dad had something that he loved\, his favourite fountain pen A friend called Norman Dover, who lived just down the street was swapping all his comics, and some of them were neat I had nothing I could swap, Norm had read all mine so I went searching through the house, some swap goods trying to find I saw my father’s favourite pen, didn’t even think it over took it and ran out the house, to look for Norman Dover my dad would think he’d lost it, these thoughts were in my head he’ll never know I took it, that’s what my mind said dad found out, I don’t know how, never said a word, nor swore he just picked up my castle, and went right out the door he went to Norman Dovers house, and said “I hear you have my pen I will give you this castle” you give it back to me then Norman agreed. The swap was made, never spoken of again but I never stole another thing, I remembered all that pain my dad was tough, I understood, what I had done was wrong but the lesson just had to be learned, and I’ve remembered all life long What you do can cost you, and if you should get caught just take your punishment as you should, its life’s lessons being taught (True Story)
