My Struggle
Though I may struggle day to day With those who strive to live I too must learn a better way To teach my heart to give To live my life beyond myself With love and empathy To push my cares beyond the shelf Of what is good for me I know the path of greater light Is learning how to care To understand the folks who might Be living with despair To recognize my brotherhood Is shared with one and all To contribute the way I should By lifting those who fall The journey of the heart may be A long and winding road But when you give unselfishly You drop a heavy load The difference in the way you care And how you follow through Is measured by the greatness Of the heart that beats in you.
