Observations From My Back Porch
Looking like first flakes of new fallen snow After the mowing, white clover is blooming And the honeybees are beginning to show. Spring squirrels emerge to begin grooming Grasses to soften their sapling nests, Business in nature's backyard is booming. Blue jays are unfurling their stately crests, While foraging for tasty newly-fallen seed Competition for ranging groundhog pests. Edge of forestland critters deftly feed Earlier in the first light of the dawn Carefully, watchfully fulfilling their need. Last comes the larger doe with new fawn Moving stealthily onto my new-mown lawn.
