Bruises
Last night was bad, mum and dad had an argument so loud that it broke our roof something I had never heard them do. Today the sounds are louder sobbing and scary whispers cloud our big green wooden mansion. today I am scared to death. Mums never had scarlet eyes until today. Mum never used makeup until today. Mum never cried until today. Mum always smiled at me until today. Mums are you okay? I asked with sadness. Night is here and I can’t sleep, waiting for those terrifying sounds. At last it came like rain in the may weather. I rose and run in the darkness towards terror and there I was, mouth wide opened finally embracing the visible terrifying sounds. Mum said dad was sleep beating her and it was perfectly normal, his slumber will be over. Mum said love sometimes was complicated. Mum said dad loved her and was expressing his love. Mum said it was a little game adults play at night. Mum made excuses each day. Today there are no more excuses to give. Today with flowers and red tears in my eyes I blame myself for not being courageous. Today mum is gone.
