Do As I Do, Dear
(I did not capitalize all the words in the titles of the poet's poems because I wanted the sentences to appear normal, but of course quotes are used to show Anitha's titles) “When your eyes locked with mine,” you came to the “window of my verse.” My dear, can’t you see “I am life – I am you?” Together as one, we can be the universe! Through “waves” of “clouds, let’s you and I “fly high.” In your “breezy embrace” I shall soar within “the throb of silence” of spacious azure sky. Yes, “silence” like that which comes “after a summer rain!” Oh, you, of “irresistable charm” - “ink of my eye” - come paint with me a “rainbow” once again. “A drizzle of memories” May’s showers left behind. Though they gave me “just a glimpse of you,” “irreplaceable” now are the “treasures” in you I find. As we go drifting back down to earth, let us “welcome spring.” “Embracing a magical moment,” we hear “a melodious symphony.” Birds start to sing. Their “music” is “in admiration” of you. “Can you imagine?” Please know they are “waiting for light,” and YOU are the light, so “smile,” and do as I do, Dear. “Bask in your own glow.” May 24, 2021 for the Title Wave Poetry Contest of Richard Lamoureux (I based this poem on titles from the poetry page of Anitha Jayasankar, my newest sweet friend from India here on PoetrySoup. I invite you to visit Anitha if you have not met her yet!)
