But I Still Believe
Faith. I know faith. I’ve read faith Lived faith Breathed faith. Bled faith. I know faith. I’ve believed in a god who never came I’ve screamed to a god who said I only need whisper a name. I’ve preached his wonders, his fame I’ve declared his miracles and greatness all the same. I prayed four hours a day To a god with nothing to say Bent knees, wet eyes, prostrate laid Deep in my faith as it decayed. I started with silent sobs to help those I love I grew to reticent roars with no aid from above. I pushed to pounding pleas for those in need But dropped to impish imploring when gods didn’t concede. Faith. I know faith I’ve lived it and breathed. One of the chosen, never deceived. I know spirit and soul Faith is only a part of the whole. It grows once you’ve met and you’ve known The God whose faith you should own. Without hangups on “why?”, “who” “who can be where?” We recall he had one command “go out, care” And so my faith can be boiled down to just one thing. A rule I believe would make the heavens sing. If only all of our kind could get behind And commit with one mind to a better find. Sixteen:fourteen, Corinth’s first letter Could not summarize my faith better. God gives but one command we need be aware of. Above all things “Do everything in love.”
