Curse From Darkness
The shooting stars light up the night’s dark sky Blazing fiery furrow on the track of transient time As through the thick atmosphere they always fly Getting burnt or falling to form gaping craters. From the asteroid belt beyond Mars they surge Invade the unsuspecting planets with deadly brunt The impact of huge chunks of unaccreted cosmic mass caused mass extinction on earth in the geologic past. The horror returned when a massive deviant asteroid The space station spotted cruising toward the earth The chance of real time fatal impact had inevitably risen With panic prediction of half of our planet being crushed. The catastrophe rushed as curse from dark deep space To cause annihilation of the creation in terminal instant The enormity of calamity humankind could never perceive For then the shattered time would merge with eternity. The predicted day dawned with the probable last sunrise The clocks ticked menacingly to the zero hour of destiny As the life on earth waited to disappear into darkness A rocket had hit the asteroid and changed its course. Precise space science achieved the successful mission Averted an impending demolition of the blue planet That would have taken mankind to the brink of extinction Life on this beautiful earth survived another mortal scare.
