We Are More Alike Than Different
We are more alike than different; don’t judge us on our packaging. Let us find each other on a soul level; do not mess us up with stereotypes. Music finds us in barns, bars, cars, boats; beside campfires with strangers. Just people we have not understood yet; let us play it out, listening. If we all wore blindfolds, would it make the worlds nicer? Would we stop judging people based on appearance? Would it force people to listen to each other on a soul level? Would music become even sweeter if we wore blindfolds? We are unaware of our preconceived notions. They are deeply buried. We do not want to think we are racist, or prone to ageism and sexism. None of us can eliminate our prejudices unless we blindfold ourselves And meet in bars, and get down and listen to each other’s songs.
