Cadence of Colors
As I open the window on the chartreuse lawn, the melody of the rustling dry leaves I hear singing ‘the scorching summer is now gone’, I listen the falling footsteps of autumn clear. The hazy screen of summer dust blows away, satin sky radiates the rays of aquamarine allure. Clumps of cloud turning cotton white from grey, sail shapeless across the span of serene azure. Lemon leaves of trees absorb the autumn colors fast, get painted tangerine and saffron before they fall, knowing the dance of hues on them won’t ever last, for they would disappear soon at the winter’s call. The blades of amethyst grass on the lavender meadow wear at sparkling dawn the pearly crown of radiant dew. In the crimson splay of the watermelon sun they glow, as the autumn horizon raises another dainty day new. When the sky will soak up the lilac sunset splinters, in my heart the shimmer of coral twilight will flow. I will hold it for my days of looming dismal winter, for the touch of warmth of the autumn afterglow.
