Touch and Go
I once lost a love that so deeply touched my heart, it left me wounded; pricked by thorns that pierced my soul. Sorrow brewed within me. Heartache, I did impart to the point of feeling broken; no longer whole. I withered when hearing, "Life goes on. You'll be fine." The place I wanted to go was at my love's side. I've been off balance, there's nothing I can align. Life is vexing for me when I just want to hide. I can't deny that each day has been touch and go, prowling in shadows, searching for what I had lost, not caring if I tumbled where fickle winds blow or if I drowned in the sea, where memories tossed. To be touched by love that left me so desolate makes it hard to live. I have no move...it's stalemate. April 8, 2021 This or That, Vol 1 Contest Sponsored by Edward Ibeh
