Vignette In Time
Allow love to fly free On its own wings it will carry me The sweetest of rhymes In their gentle persuasion Soon I find In the rhythms of the day In the stillness of time Those melodic phrases Are captured in lines The boldest of words Can cut like a knife Bringing into the light A slice of a day In someone’s life From days long ago A War of Roses An impassioned fight Echoing still In words On a page A emphatic plea Of cause and effect Their time was at hand But for the briefest of moments They penned out in words Their heart Their mind Their body and soul Pleading with all who would follow To forge a NEW path Neither friend nor foe Should dissuade you from your task In some long forgotten book In WORDS On a PAGE Are a leaflet of time THEY are there to remind you To FORGIVE and FORGET is DIVINE
