Neurons
I’ve sat here all night just trying to write But nothing would spring from my brain I looked in my mind and what did I find I think that I’m slightly insane I’ve been unaware of things that live there I don’t want to go there again What lives in my shadows is all kinds of baddoes And things that I cannot explain I don’t mean no malice to poor little Alice Her world appears run of the mill For here in my head donkeys dance with the dead And Santa cooks elves in the grill A man with one shoe tries to fly a gnu With a pelican sat on his head A pig laying eggs has pogo stick legs And she nests in an upside down shed There’s a big old guitar that is screeching Yee Hah As it gallops around on a horse The horse wears a Stetson and smokes a cigar Because he’s half cowboy, of course And then there’s the nurse who’s driving a hearse While wearing a Grim Reaper’s hood The back is packed solid with tangled up bodies Her nursing it seems isn’t good And up in the sky where the polka dot fly Buzzes around eating frogs He’s clearly quite wary of what he finds scary The tongues of the flycatcher dogs There’s flesh coloured robots all queuing to vote And a sheep busy mounting a cow I know it’s absurd but a bowling ball bird Said Arrivederci and ciao Well that took the biscuit I just couldn’t risk it This nonsense will have to be hurled Into the mire of my minds icy fire And not be unleashed on the world But why do I try with my ink running dry To counter my insanity No kitten nor bunny is profound or funny... I’ll stick with the madness in me.
