What Days Become
I’m happy, I’m sad I’ve been in the same mood so long That I can’t tell I’m happy, I’m sad I think I’m going through hell But I can’t tell As the rest of the world thinks it’s in a recession I reside with those who never had anything to begin with Maybe a belated wish A portion of noodles on a small dish Scratch metal parts A lot of muscle and heart It won’t carry you for the most of your days But it will marry you through the remainder of your maze Just when you think times can get no worst The holidays peer over and into your nights Life evolves around a lesson in a small town Where hope is an instrument that’s rarely found I touch on the premise And yet to open eyes it remains unsound Used to having less And at twenty-two I reach for stars To catapult my worries above my adversaries and scars I’m almost a man But I’m not quite there The majority of my life I’ve been stranded in an isolated state of mind All spectators seem to do is laugh and stare I’m home for the holidays But I am not yet there Dear life I miss you And I’m not gone I miss you And I’m standing on the other side of a happy home It’s days like this That autumn kisses, and winter tells It’s days like this That paint a warm face pale
