Dreaming of a Nice Quiet Death
My macabre thoughts are kicking my guts around today. Suicidal? No. But I would not be that opposed to a killing. Just kidding. Snicker. Snicker. Have I taken my Lithium? Shut up! My funeral will be nonexistent For by then I will have alienated everyone No one to peer into the casket Maybe strangers. Funeral music. Dreary and dark. I refuse to let them embalm me, kicking tubes out of their hands At the last second they want to shut the lid Not knowing why my coffin is suggesting it. I sit up during the service Everyone shrieks and screams. Both of them My sister and her fifth husband She’s on three now, but she drops them quickly My mood wanders away laughing I hear the snickering and close my eyes Dreaming of a nice quiet death Under the sea, being pulled down by a merman
