Winter
Three winters ago I had my fill of the snow My travel's through the Midwest have been a race Keeping the cold behind me, not losing a toe I have won, for the most part, sun on my face My travel's through the Midwest have been a race But for all this running, there is nothing to show I have won for the most part, the sun on my face My prize, isolation, inside my own grotto But for all this running, there is nothing to show My heart cares not for this ridiculous chase My prize. Isolation inside my own grotto Was never the goal while I was setting the pace My heart cares not for this ridiculous chase Keeping the cold behind me, not losing a toe Was never the goal while I was setting the pace Three winters ago I had my fill of the snow December 31, 2020 Winter Poetry Contest Sponsored by Emile Pinet
