Teardrop
Teardrop Crimson rivers flood our streets For every fallen fellow man As hatred rears its head White, black, and in-between Bullets penetrate our peace Heartbreak follows everyone And leave our innocent dead… Its color is unseen. Does pigment of the skin reflect So many tears are shed today The morals we hold deep Tomorrow will bring more It’s not our color that defines The weight of teardrops crushes deep Who hurts more when they weep. And drowns one to the core… Misguided by a blind desire Approach mankind with loving eyes To judge our fellow man Look deep and cause no fear Such bias tempts a sinful act Skin color shows no person’s soul We strive to understand. For all teardrops are clear... Prejudice still finds a way -By: Meghan C. Hutchings To seal a person’s fate This cycle, kept alive by few Who live and die through hate... This world may always harbor some Whose ignorance won’t cease But glance around with open eyes Most people yearn for peace.
