Relinquish Those Jobs
You rock ‘n roll heads, country bumpkins and sillies Trying to intimidate us into living your life path It is hilarious to us, so we laugh open mouthed Using shame we cannot feel, for we do not feel anymore We are dying in your staid tunnels and ditches Not you dinosaurs, you still hold onto jobs we need The eighteen year olds of your time were sent as fodder to die in rice paddies and swamps in Viet Nam. Sure. But we are dying here, as you parade around in your pearls. With your stocks and bonds, and fourteen karat chains. You are all about obtaining things, while we cleave onto people Your advice is worthless to us; we are the unemployable Because you are keeping all of the jobs……………….selfishly. We are not your enemy or your combatants, merely people. We would like to run away in vans with painted flowers We would like Woodstock to happen with yellow smiling faces. We would readily wear our love beads, and our hair your way. We admire your love for materialism but when is it our turn? Relinquish the jobs. You have worked too long already. It is our turn. You are enjoying what we have never experienced.
