The steam that used to flow with traffic Now empty and dried up Like the bars in which We used to sup . Broken windows shattered glass Graffiti scribbled upon public walls Weathered metal cast fittings rusting fast People claimed by the creeping reaper The devils plague and ill winds he wafted in A losing battle In a war we can never win . Misleading information and media hype Has turned each new day Into an endless night . For foolish people didn’t listen And now they reap what they sow Infecting fellow innocent humans They don’t care about or even know. . Loaded guns shooting in the dark Destroying humanity And a tired world apart Man has taken a step too far Going downhill fast with no brake In a burning car . Hope be a slippery slope But maybe all we have We have to make the most of now We are alive for now and should be glad .
