Stay
So you’re at the entrance one foot in, one foot out, It looks as though you wanna come in but something else is pulling you out, Was it true, what you said? Or probably that’s not what I heard? “I promise to stay if you promise not to leave’’, That’s exactly what you said on New Year’s Eve, We’re barely past midyear and you’ve forgotten your promise, It’s just started raining and you’ve forgotten how the sun shines, Has the nocturnal activity of the moonflower, Caused you to forget the smell of the morning dew? We had it all marked out for us, Nothing was going to stop us, Does it really look greener on the other side? I thought it was greener where you water it, What else can I say to make you find your way back to my heart? Stay, that’s all I can say, Let us not from each other depart.
