It Feels Kinda Lonely Being Awake
You’re all flawless, beautiful creatures, soaring above the surface. Wind flowing through your hair, destined for your purpose. I, stomp my feet on the scorching furnace, worthless, a man, dragged by an Earth, that’s ruthless. If you just, could stop the dirt for a little while, I’d take three breaths and try to fly as high. I’d join you all and my lips would form a smile, I’ve ran all my life and walked through a mile. Senile and searching through the muddy skies, my feet form the waves that rile the rise. Clearing my eyes to peek behind the blinds, old age chasing a blurred up vision of life. I strove to be what I came to find, is a grain of sand, to their minds. Blow through winds and flawlessly align, oh, I am in awe to the weight of time. The river flows faster, the more I climb, swept by currents and teeth I grind. I don’t know if I will drown or end my plight, I just envy the ones whose lights have dried. And as the night rolls on by, and they all fall behind, I find myself no longer tied, to an Earth that’s tired, to carry my flesh.
