In Land of Cockaigne
In the Land of Cockaigne, No one worked, how insane There was nothing to do Everything was there for you. It was a mythical land. All you desired was at hand. Luxury galore Everything the rich adore The best of everything was the rule. In this land of indulgent fools Avariciousness became a need. A seed that grew so big and strong Land Of Cockaigne has long since gone. What are the benefits of this land, Where all one desired is at hand. No benefits that I can see This land is not for me. Why would anyone choose to live In a land of all take no give. There would be no competition. Just repetition No strain, no use of brain No need to think, no desire To aspire, no drive, why survive? I would die, in this land of Cockaigne. I need water, not champagne. 30/11/20 In Land of Cockaigne Edward Ibeh
