An Addicts Amends
Memories and friends that have all been lost The price of addiction, an insurmountable cost The price of addiction, talents misplaced Remember the runner pushed out of the race The tiny dancer spinning on the floor Found no use for the song any more The once energetic with brush and paint Became quite happy just feeling faint What we have done for one more fix The precious sold and suicide risks All the cries that we tuned out Deafening noises from our loved ones shouts Now though we have tried new steps Eventually hoping to climb out of this depth Though our want will carry on The memories we hear will keep us strong Today my friend we all have fears For the price of addiction is counted by tears We look bleak altho strong and brave Us tempted addicts surrounding a grave Some will leave to from whence they come While envying the addict who can teach them to run Not a word was spoken for the long dead Its hard to think with a clouded head It was their words though that impressed you so Now its to late but you want them to know So humble your self and clean out your head And remember your here because someone is dead Memories and friends that have all been lost The price of addiction a now surmountable cost.
