A Boldness For the Gospel
By Dana Redricks November 12, 2020 What Does it Mean to Be Strong for the Gospel of Jesus Christ? This is a question I often ask myself, and another question I ask myself what does it truly mean to be set apart? Without the boldness of the early Church would have died in its infancy. There's a deep feeling to be accepted, but the desire of the Christian heart truly seeks and longs to be embraced and accepted by Jesus Christ. The enemy tries to convince us, we have to gain God's acceptance through works, but there's nothing we need to do but accept God's gift of Salvation which is His grace, love, and mercy He towards us. We are called to be strong and courageous." Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9). We can find the confidence and find the courage to go fourth and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ no matter what we face knowing we have something greater in looking forward beyond this world. Set apart is to be Christ like and not to be worldly or desire the things of the world. We are to seek the things of heaven," Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]." Colossians 3:1-2
