Two Seas Meet
And then we came to the place Where the two seas meet, With nothing but God and each other: There our lives were a mirror To each other, and yet it was All that we had ever wanted. I had never seen her dance And twerk her apple bottoms, I had thought her fake and private, And penned a song "dance with me" Then at that junction She relieved herself of burdens: She was nothing but a beautiful babe, And in that garden, her honey skin Was refined to rare gold, You would think her not human, And could hurt at a single touch. And yet God had taken us that far When He had caused us To retrace our steps back to the place Where we had lost our fish When they slipped into the sea In a very swiftly surprising way, We had been careless of love, And even then we could not care more, With God in control.
