Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required I had a piece of paper And was told to make it more So with a shaky hand I began my own decor It didn’t take me long To notice I’d been sloppy I could not erase it And had only this one copy With no way to start over I panicked and got scared Then I just ignored it Pretending not to care But I could’t let it go Failure haunted every thought It whispered in my ear And told me all the things I’m not Anger grew inside me So I went and grabbed a marker I used it as a weapon Making mistakes darker And before I knew it I’d really messed things up Because it bled with permanence on everything it touched I couldn’t take it back It was time to get creative So I turned over the page The flaws were visible but faded Determined to do better And with a steady hand I was careful with my strokes And intentional as I began I colored and I drew Transforming as I went And with each new line I felt more connected to my pen When the page was covered I held it to the light And seeing traces of the marker Tried not to grimace at the site As for the things I stained I think that they’ve been treated I left them in good hands While I worked on what I needed Now I have many pages I get more each time they’re filled That’s how I became an Artist And show others that I’m skilled
