Struck By Death
Stripped of partial vision at two years of age No one can comprehend the relentless rage Imperial oblivion is an understatement of loss The day my Father died, my sanity was the cost I have no recollection to the years after that soul-shaking night Stripped of everything, including my sight... Blessed with strangers and lovers to fill my time, not the void Soon I graduated high school and became employed Sight was regained, still a blur A little one, my life would stir Cancer from my toddler days knocked on hers but I did not let it come in I would do anything and everything, name a sin! Remission. Back home, we flew...as she was spoiled... times two Then one passed, Four years the other as well Struck by death... Few words will blurt but not fully tell. Shaped by death's visits, some demanding others of peace Fueled to live louder, the energy does increase Death is misunderstood, until you dance in its arms in the twilight hours Life and death are counterparts, beholding so many powers Struck by death, I still stand Understanding by the hour, no favorites over woman or man.... Death is a mentor, among the best As my soul quivers on dates that resonate the deaths of my top three Through the darkness... I learned to see
