The Legend Uncle Aaron
It's crazy to think That just nine years ago The world it had lost A funny stubborn soul For most people who knew him Like him they couldn't help Though always sarcastic We all knew he meant well He was so very unique I couldn't describe it exactly He did what he wanted But still loved his family He struggled in life But he was not close to a zero Proof cause im writing this now My uncle was a hero My life almost ended Way back when i was three I drowned in the pool Uncle Aaron saved me I am so very thankful Cause of him I breathe air The fact he is gone I feel is not really fair Though as much as we miss him We're grateful to have known him We remember the good times And treasure those moments His memory is a legend I feel that's safe to say Had his own sense of humor That he perfected each day The crazy stories he'd tell When we were all kids Made then up told them well Yes we believed it Something that he taught me I don't think he meant to teach Was that you can find humor In just about anything I always admired that man I aspired to also be funny I learned as hard as it gets Laughter does something Our family was all there Even though we were worried We sat waiting and laughed As we told his stories All the good one's and bad one's While awaiting the verdict So sad when he passed But to know him was worth it To this day I remember The way that you sound The way you made people laugh Whenever you were around Every year I honor The Legend Yes the great Aaron Toney There was no one else like him Yes he was the only By Troy Toney 1-18-20 This poem goes with an earlier poem I wrote called submerged.
