Shadows
Shadows... In what world am I living in In what day and in what age Where love is always an obscure reality And what the heart feels is meaningless I believe my eyes, I believe my mind But my heart and my head collide When the reality of what I see Reminds me again of why I hide in the silence of the shadows... It’s with a heavy heart and my unholy hand that the words are finally formed So many scenes and I don’t know what they all mean One image covered by another and another and another The picture blurred by years of memories all slowly turning to dust I believe my eyes, but they cannot see I believe my mind but it won’t process thought And I believe my heart but it does not feel My head and heart collide again When the reality finally hits me And that’s why I hide in the silence of the shadows....
