The Accident
The air has a burnt flavor tonight – I guess, that’s the taste of grief; we all breathe it in and blow it out differently; life never, for any of us an endless road lined with row after row of blossoms brimming over with luscious sunlight…. sort of like, “Starry Night” – one can focus on a warmth of gleams or step off into the swirls of darkness between – a cold slush of ears, and a slip into deeper madness… or one can try and just focus on the great love we shared – our favorite press of beach and how our rubbed bodies proudly wore their satisfying chaffing – joyful seasons together came and went without interruption, till one day ended with an abrupt sharpness – there is only a jagged edge left, now and then briefly soothed with a splash of fond memory….
