Welcome To Pennsylvania
Where were the Declaration of Independence and Constitution signed? Give up? It is Pennsylvania. One of the original thirteen colonies, one that is mined. Keystone State, Quaker State, Oil State – which one is right? All three actually. Combing them to the Keystone Quaker Oil State would make more sense to me. Of course William Penn named the state after his father – the other William Penn. Why not just say you are naming it for yourself? This surely was done on a little whim. Taylor Swift the singer is probably the most prominent celebrity from the state Who is still living, alive, and well – one to whom teens and young adults can relate. Kobe Bryant of course is from Pennsylvania, Amanda Seyfried, Kevin Hart and Tina Fey. But more about the state – do not miss the Crayola Factory if you are heading out this way. It is in Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania, and it produces three billion crayons every year. The Hershey Chocolate factory in Hershey, Pennsylvania is not to be missed, that’s clear! Pennsylvania is the only one of the thirteen colonies that is not bordered by the ocean, But you can visit Punxsutawney, the home of Punxsutwaney Phil if you have a notion. I steer clear of Philadelphia because of the politics, the traffic and crime after dark, But if you want to see the Liberty Bell, you must head there immediately. It is in the park. While in Philadelphia you could visit the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and Paul It is gorgeous, an architectural beauty, that stands ever so glorious and tall. There is also the Wannamaker Organ, Masonic Temple and Independence Hall. Maybe I should head toward Philadelphia on second thought, after all….
