He gave her a pill, Said it was just for her, just what she needed. Maybe it was, In some way. She though maybe if she takes it, he will like her. But he had too many problems of his own. How can someone so self-inflicted care or notice the emotions of others? But she kept trying, To get him to see, The love that was meant to be. He hurt her, sure, Many times. But his words just made it harder, more of a challenge. She found herself going crazy, Going down with him, So she stopped, Before it was too late. In a sense she even gave up. But he kept calling back, Calling her name. The words sounded so sweet and warm. Could it be? Has he finally realized? No. He was just afraid of losing her, Like he lost everything else. Because deep down, some part of him did care, So she hung on to it, Hoping that one day it will overcome everything else. Before he left, he gave her more reason to hope. He said when he gets back, they might still have a chance. I wish he would just let me be.
