Loaded feelings erupted and began spinning Negative thoughts started winning My heart pounded into a tailspin flying right out of my chest Was this about me or about us? This wasn't something that we discussed! My first thoughts came rushing forth to the rescue Torrential tears steadily flowing Insecurities and fears growing With my hearstrings clutched tight, I held my tongue What happened to the healing of that inner child? The one whose mother's-like love he longed to find? Needed time to mend and sort out his ordeal? Not to give up on love, was my advice for you Now, I wonder, should those words I could chew?
