The Gracious Gift
in the pile of time amassed with layers of days and nights i see a flower called life open the petals of divinity as the essence of existence gradually unfolds its beauty with the splendored grace of god, but i wait for the ordained time when i will hear in the sigh of the wilting flower the inevitable call of the auburn soil of the barren ground in the cold night, not knowing when the beckon will come from god’s blissful realm as i walk the last mile of journey on the fading pathway, and while my tired eyes close every night i dedicate the colors of my flower and the gleam of my twilight hours to god, and when I wake up in the sunny morning i thank god for the gracious gift of another new day i see my flower drenched in serene sunrise hues drizzling god’s blessings
