Prison
We come in orange and leave in blue In-between there is a lot we go through We learn about love and learn about hate As we lose our faith to anticipate We learn to take nothing for granted As we fight the demon seed from being planted We are nothing but a number in this place This term 73168 fits my face As you look at the C.O.s it's true but sad All walks of life have good and bad I look out my window towards the gun towers Inside are little specks with forbidden powers Its true prison has fences and walls And it is ok to make telephone calls But what its about is political rules All the ones not taught in schools It’s about your heart turning cold and your body turning hard In order to hold your respect out in the yard It’s about learning to suck up your balls And handle your business out in the halls It will teach you all about respect And sadly enough about neglect What prison is about is clear to see It’s about people like you and people like me I wish to dedicate this poem to Michael Torres who was once a C.O. inside a Prison.
