The One That Got Away
The one that got away will forever remain a mystery. And any thing said about it will forever remain a theory. We met at a very young age, perhaps the age when love Was considered 'puppy love'. We lived in different states, Some 75 miles apart which always kept the relationship Rather loose. From about the age of 12 until my late teens, I always desired for the relationship to go forward. However, I later had serious doubts which were confirmed by her not wanting a future with me. Chances are great that any lasting connection was really never meant to be, like a willow will never be an oak tree. The party in question was one among at least ten or twelve. The one that got away got buried in the deep portal of my heart. So deep in fact that there was never any thought of resurfacing After the disconnect. From around 1968 to 1970, the possibility For reconnecting was there, but it never reached the level of probability. Although my heart longed for what I thought would be a match made In heaven, there was another who arrived in 1970 that replaced everything I thought should have been and became far more than the one who got Away. So in a sense, it died on the vine for lack of emotional norishment, never realigning with me which is the way it was meant to be. From my mid Teen years, I always have felt that I was pursuing something far bigger than myself, and I was determined to never allow anything or anyone to interrupt what and whom God had purposed for me. I am happy and content with the one I have been married to for 48 years That did not get away. 070220PSCtest, The One That Got Away, Silent One
