Subduing Sleeplessness
Once haunted with sleeplessness-caused angst gripped by guilt midst tormenting iniquities… my soul lost its vibrancy in communing with God Now, by His pardon of loving forgiveness --- I’m restored, enjoying serenity of night’s rest. When attacked by sleeplessness-inflicted sorrow marked by surmounting unbelief due to life’s enigmas … my heart seeks the Saviour Who assures me His presence despite uncertainty of the future --- I’m pacified with His declaration of security.* At times that I’m visited with sleeplessness-driven boredom intensifying feelings of futility over ministerial routine... my faith is reproved by the Master, exemplifying His sacrifice leading me to His wisdom’s prudence --- I’m humbled, yielding to Him every time I retire. Triumphing over sleeplessness-triggered despair while subduing frustration, coping with failure... my spirit cleaves to the Lord Whose compassion and grace always work upholding, strengthening me in my reaching-out endeavours --- I’m grateful, revived to face another blessed day to serve with bliss. *Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
