A House Divided
Only within lacklustre eyes does the saddest one shout, while sorrowful tears run in grimy profusion. Oh God! The clarity of our beginning is more prevalent than ever, if we take the word ‘Prejudice’ out of the dictionary, will it disappear? We do not need the world stained in bloody mindlessness, or dwell in one hell of a holy mess. Oh, where are you Jesus Christ? Every day I wear your symbol around my neck, my prayers unanswered. My youth caressed gentle faces today anger enters, this, a different pace masked in veils of despondency. The system demands continuing improvements, says we cannot stand still must move forwards. Yet all I feel is a raging heart beating abrupt exasperation, against an invasion, at best risqué because I know there are those in the east, that wait for our very own self destruction. © Harry J Horsman 2020
