The Pawn
Today I landed on d3 ready to attack the enemy there on the snowy hill while I paved way for the bishop and the Knight to launch from the rare. I am just a soldier trained to overcome his fear. I have my allegiance pledged to cross through the dark mud on d4 and swim in the whitish sea to defend the King even when traded on the battle field. They call me a pawn with a soldier's spirit They call me a weakling yet I captured gallant knights and sent shivers down opponent's spine. Today I captured castles and chased the powerful queen I ran after men on horse backs even when my sole bled. Today I raised morale of comrades and we marched into enemy territories with our fears being traded for success. Today I met the King pinned on b8 while being commandeered by a great tactician who believed in what I can do when others believed I was but a tiny pawn And in the end it was a checkmate.
