Alone
Do you ever feel That you were better off alone? Like, just entirely seal Everyone away and you live alone? 'Cause in a group you call your own If you begin to feel alone And all the calls through the phone, Fake smiles and words, to hate, You've grown, They begin to sicken you to your bone. Family, relatives, friends, Are they all worthwhile? Or just phasic trends We have for a while? They love to guide and lead And give you words of advice to heed All in pretext of a 'good deed' But term your wishes as mere greed And consider you like a filthy weed. Because you are but a stain To their perfect reputation, Drowning you in misery and pain Not seeing your trepidation. And so, from a gem that once shone, You realise now you're undeserving and torn, And all the sins you had ever borne, Haunt you and make you forlorn, While you remain in the darkness, alone.
