Sea Had One Wish
Sensuous serious sea asked Poseidon if he would grant one small wish. She had never asked for a wish before, so he was intrigued. You want waves that overturn ships? A killer wind? Bigger white whales? Part of me hungers to be a female in flesh, she said, like a siren. To lure men to their death? Poseidon asked, secretly pleased. Sea laughed and foamed. No, she said, but I want to be seen. Do you need every ounce of yourself or just a little part? Poseidon asked. I would leave that up to you, Sea said. I want to experience flesh, just once. I want to twirl my truth, and laugh, and giggle, and be seen as a woman. I want to intrigue, entice and cause men to say “wow” Sea said. Poseidon’s wife heard the plan, and was instantly against it. She did not trust him. This made it so actually; he granted Sea’s wish. Poseidon had never loved Sea more than that day; She was an entity he dreamed of the rest of his life, Causing his wife to reflect on her silliness in forbidding Poseidon anything.
