Summer Sun
Each day begins by growing bright while the horizon glows with light at sunrise. The mounting sun continues high and fills the new day's azure sky with sunbeams. Caressed by rays on flower beds, awakened buds lift sleepy heads to sunlight. Sometimes, mid-day, the parching heat is quenched when laden clouds secrete sunshowers. At last, at dusk, as night draws near the sun presents its glowing sphere at sunset. May 2, 2020 Contest: Compounding The Verse Sponsor: Joseph May Rules: The poem consists of five 3- line stanzas, for a total of 15 Lines. The last line of each stanza ends in a compound word, which all share a common stem word (I used the word "sun") The stem word must be used in the title. The syllable count is 8,8,3, with a rhyme scheme of aab, ccd, eef, ggh, iik
