The Mysterious New Years' Pledge
Before I turned off the lights I will never know if In the kitchen, That mouse was I hung the kitchen towel, Ever removed, or…. And as I started If it is still here, To sponge down the countertop, But dead! I was horrified to see A flying mouse?!..... EEEEK!! I aim to find out, I was bewildered. One way or another, You got to be kidding? Where this culprit I’ve seen everything! Ended up. It flew right in front of me Even if it takes me From right beneath my counter All of next year, Towards the back of my refrigerator. To resolve this issue, I will make it This hideous tormenting creature My No. # 1 Priority! To invade my space Caught me totally off guard. I will never know if That mouse was Ever removed, or.... If it is still here, But dead! I aim to find out, One way or another, Where this culprit Ended up. Even if it takes me All of next year, To resolve this issue, I will make it My No. #1 Priority! All I could think of was How I dreaded to fall asleep! It was for only a moment That I thought The new exterminators Were supposed to get rid Of them all! From the 8th floor Travelling down To the 1st floor, Maybe, this was just One mouse left behind Landed on the 3rd floor In my apartment, And escaped his demise! I don’t know whether The Maintenance Crew Ever moved the dishwasher out To see if there was a hole!
