Aah, Spring Gardening
Aah, Spring Gardening (it does a body good) Written: by Miracle Man 4/15/2020 With April showers comes the threat of a storm, Nothing unusual in Oklahoma, it’s the norm. Last week, one day past ninety, this week a freeze, We’ve gone from howling winds to gentle breeze. I couldn’t wait to plant so now some nights i cover, And mid morning each day, I hasten to rediscover. Each year I vow that this garden might be my last, But come next spring, I’ll plant, can’t shake my past. If I didn’t plant tomatoes life would seem a bummer, I plant’em early, grow’em big, and hav’em first, each summer. Forty half barrel containers, each filled with Miracle Grow, The way I grow tomatoes now, requires a fair amount of dough. Due to high potassium levels Doctors tell me not to eat, Which means church friends and neighbors get a treat.
