Cooking Up a Storm
A little breeze Blew through My head Something Nagged at me A storm was coming The breeze Grew in intensity As I open the cupboard By the time I got to the back Where the pan I need was A Tornado it was Pots and pans Thundered and crashed The tornado Spun up to a tropical low As it approached the Pantry coast Spinning and churning Txt Hey What are you up too? Reply Um just cooking up A storm Txt What are you cooking? Reply Arr don’t know Am up to my elbows In flood waters Can’t find the plug Cause of all the Pots and Pans Txt Ok Just don’t Burn the house down Through everything That was Spices and packets Sauces To make courses Staples of rice an flour And the odd mice The cyclone Moved slowly Dropping its load Upon the unsuspecting Kitchen bench Picking up speed again It made landfall At the fridge Digesting All before Returning Above the bench A micro burst Let loose Raining down All that was needed The front Moved along Warnings were issued Alerts rang loud The beater Gained speed It sang On song Then all of a sodden Walla It was done Into the oven Txt You OK How’s the cooking? Reply Um yeah The recipe calls For no bake. So why is the oven smoking. Oh, f#ck me.
