One
One When the people of the four winds Gather They speak with one voice A rumbling Deep and resonate A constant unbroken union Rising – falling Neither bass nor alto Modulating As one Soaring Song In the rhythm of one heart Beating Beneath the multi-colored mantle Of one world; When the people of the four dawns Rise They take one breath Of morning glow With a singular groaning Stunned surprise Or Anticipation - Shaking off the howling pain Of midnight’s Stalking storms - To share an understanding Of one unspoken Wisdom Gathered in By a new dawning. When the people of the four oceans Laugh - One thundering applause Reverberates through Waves of Rivers, Streams And Seas To banish darkness With their swelling brightness Leaving it No room To grow No place to exist. And when the people of the four midnights Rest Their peaceful breathing, Like vesper prayers In harmonious chanting, Gathers stardust Holds onto moonbeams Molding them into Visions Prophecies And Possibilities Beyond black holes Far from the unseen edges Of imagination’s Roaming gaze. When the people of the four seasons Meet To harvest Prune Reap And Plant They reach With one plea To The One Voice Bridging Genesis To Revelation.
