Get away from the diesel fumes And millions spreading germs. Trust me, I’m a doctor. I trusted him, poor fool, Packed a bag and booked on-line At a farmhouse advertising, “Peaceful weekend breaks” On Saturday, with sturdy boots and a picnic And my guide to flora a fauna, (No harmful wildlife in the area) I roamed the tranquil countryside. In the midst of a field of sweet clover, A bee, taking exception to my sturdy boots, Deposited its sting. First aid kit devoid of anti-histamine. I sat on a hillock to partake of lunch. The ants in the hill were red ones No harmful wildlife in the area? Tell that to the bull in the next field. Who also took exception And to the rabbits whose burrow I tripped in While trying to escape. Tell it to the mosquitoes, Who seemed to like me. On Sunday I limped home a day early.
