The Life of the Wise
I sense one’s sight, I wiggle my tail My cheeks are kissed, I shriek in silence My ears receive joy, it’s kept in my mail I laugh in my visions. This makes no sense I sleep in bed just to dream of some friend I enjoy work just to study new souls What matters to me’s not how much I’d spend What matters to me’s if their life’s in control I hear one word; my visions wander off As words connect with what happened before My smell’s so strong, you’ll either slam or scoff My tongue’s a book which is always in store My mind lives in a world far from the norm The Eurovision’s my sole interest Along with other music styles and forms Because of this, I’m a C student at best Some dumb folk screaming in my ear, I flinch Words of agony, locked behind my door Therefore, my sad face and these walls I’d punch As signs of pain or the devil’s encore I have a gifted mind so apt and deft But I speak like some senseless soul so sick As my words cannot translate my mind So people picture my pride as some prick I must time myself when it’s time to talk I must check my own face in the mirror So I’d refrain from giving my folks some shock Maybe, coming clean would make my words clearer The sounds of whisper and of a hubbub Turns my heart in the form of a heartburn As I’d never know what I’d learn in a pub Maybe I’m a blessing or the one to spurn Yet, does it matter if I flap my hands? Does it matter if I should say I’m great? So what if I’m cheerful by ploughing the sands? So what if I’m quiet? No need for hate. I’m a gifted man with eyes so bright I’m a wise angel with a glazing heart I guess I’m a knight who’s ready to fight Therefore, you shouldn’t have judged me from the start
